![]() ![]() We were not told about the magic shows that were going on throughout the restaurant, so we missed all of that. When we arrived, our table was not ready so they just sent us to the bar and said we could wait there or the patio. This was such a disappointment from beginning to end! We had a 9:00pm reservation on a Friday night. thank the Lord we had a gift certificate to offset what would have been an incredibly expensive evening for a mediocre (primarily the dining part) experience. The magic itself was primarily card tricks and the highlight of the evening. In fairness, there were two additional floor acts that we could see in the interim. The rapid fire dining experience of H of C had us completely done with dinner by 6:30 pm, so we could wait an hour for the main act. Bottom line is we sat down at 5:25 pm so we could make a 7:30 show. not nearly as good as some of the other fine dining venues in Nashville, but then again one is paying for the entertainment as part of the food cost as well. The food itself was average-above average…. The waiter ended up blaming the chef for the timing of the meal. And then actually taking items off the table (like the fake candle/light in the middle) to squeeze all of the entrees on while it was clear people weren’t done with the first course!! This is one of cardinal rules you do not break if you consider yourself a “fine dining” establishment. ![]() ![]() The crowning blow was bringing out the entrees while two of the four people were still eating their salads. It felt like we were dining family style with all the passing of plates/glasses around the table. Again, the salads were initially given to the wrong person…. This was followed by bringing out the salad course. In addition, the two beers that he brought were correct, however they were distributed to the wrong people. To start off, he brought the wrong bottle of wine to the table (ok, it happens)…. Our waiter was engaging, however he attempted to use “humor” to cover up several missteps during our meal. We are Nashville locals and decided to go to H of C primarily to use a gift certificate (some of the previous mixed reviews gave us pause).
